Frequently asked questions

The Team plan allows you to create a team on KNIME Community Hub to collaborate on a project with your colleagues in private spaces, accessible only to the team members. Additionally, you can add execution capabilities to your team enabling workflow execution and automation.
The total amount you pay is the monthly cost of the team subscription and the cost for execution, based on consumption. You will pay for your team subscription once every month, at the beginning of your billing cycle. On top of the billed subscription you will be charged for execution only based on consumption in the past billing cycle. You will be charged when the execution context is up and running. We offer various execution context sizes, each with different execution power, which will consume different credit amounts per minute. Price per credit is € 0.05, billed per started minute.
Available configurations, tailored to different processing needs, include: Small (2 vCores - 8 GB RAM) consuming 2 credits per minute, Medium (4 vCores - 16 GB RAM) consuming 4 credits per minute, and Large (8 vCores - 32 GB RAM) consuming 8 credits per minute.
Yes, you can run multiple workflows in parallel on the same execution context, it does not incur additional charges. Execution performance may vary depending on the execution power of the execution context and the amount and type of workflows executing in parallel.
Total execution consumption is based on the time the execution context is active. Its active time depends on multiple factors, including workflow execution time and minimal additional time for context stopping. The execution context starts automatically when a workflow is executed, either ad-hoc or through a schedule. Once all running workflows are finished, the context stops automatically.
You can run multiple workflows simultaneously, paying only for the time the execution context is up running. Also, we provide different execution context configurations to optimize both costs and performance.
Yes, maximum execution time can be configured for each workflow schedule, allowing flexibility in managing execution duration. Find more about how to schedule the execution of your workflow and set up its maximum execution time in the KNIME Community Hub Guide.
Workflows can be executed ad-hoc, for example as a data app, or scheduled for automatic execution at specified intervals. Note that running as a data app does not involve deployment but rather immediate execution in a user-friendly interface.
Find more information in the KNIME Community Hub Guide.
Disk space stores team workflows and data files, with a recommended starting point of 30GB, expandable as needed (at extra cost).
You can download and upload your data directly from and to the team's spaces. Additionally, you can connect to any data sources accessible by the KNIME Community Hub, for example via our Google or Azure cloud connector nodes.
Yes, the Python integration is available. The only Python environment available by default on the KNIME Community Hub is the bundled Python environment of the Python integration. If you need a custom environment, use the Conda Environment Propagation node to make sure it gets set up when your workflow runs. Please note that Python environments configured by the Conda Environment Propagation node will be created each time the execution context starts up.
Since 2023, KNIME has maintained a 99.99% uptime. It can happen that during specific updates the KNIME Community Hub might not be reachable for a short period of time - this will be communicated when visiting the website.
Upload speeds are affected by your internet connection speed and possibly the physical distance between your devices to the KNIME Community Hub, which runs on AWS in Frankfurt, Germany.
Yes, all connectors to other platforms such as AWS, Azure and Google available on KNIME Analytics Platform can be used. That means that other software, such as Snowflake, Redbricks and Big Data infrastructure, can all be accessed.
The Team plan provides automation and private collaboration capabilities to subscribed users. Details on the capabilities available can be found here. The Team plan is a Software as a Service (SaaS) offering from KNIME AG running on the KNIME Community Hub as an instantiation of KNIME Business Hub, maintained by KNIME. The infrastructure physically runs on a managed AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) utilizing an AWS S3 object store. The instantiation is physically based in Frankfurt, Germany. Wherever possible, AWS security features are used to enhance the security capabilities of this offering.
The space assigned to a team is available only to the licensed team unless the team admin decides to make it public. All data, workflows and components stored within that space use basic encryption on the AWS S3 Object store. In addition, we use AWS IAM permissions, network policy rules and Kubernetes RBAC.
We use Amazon S3 managed keys (SSE-S3) for basic encryption of all data, workflows and components stored in the spaces of your team. Data in transit within KNIME software is encrypted using TLS. Data in transit transmitted between KNIME and other applications or services can be encrypted with TLS if the appropriate options are set within the appropriate nodes.
KNIME is committed to protecting personal data. If your organization qualifies as a legal entity and requires a Data Processing Agreement (DPA), you can read more about signing KNIME's ready-to-use DPA here.
The backup RPO (recovery point of objective) is 30 minutes or less. At the current time, a backup would only be reinstated if the entire system needed to be recovered. An individual request for a backup to be reinstalled for a team is currently not available.
Our KNIME Community Hub is hosted at AWS in Frankfurt, Germany, and it is not currently possible to select a specific location.
The KNIME Secure Software Environment is described here. An external auditor runs Penetration tests on KNIME Community Hub at least twice a year or more often as needed (for example, when major enhancements to the software are made). You can request an executive summary of the test results.
Currently, we don't send out notifications for updates, but we focus on avoiding noticeable interruptions for the user during update and maintenance operations.
Team plan users can use teamssupport@knime.com to communicate problems, outages and potential bugs. For assistance with workflow building, we highly recommend checking out the KNIME Forum.

* For members of the educators alliance, team collaboration is free. To prevent misuse, execution is excluded from that free offering.
