This free tool helps generate an employee rotation of tasks (i.e. duty roster planner).
To use the free tool with success, follow these steps:
1. Connect your input data to their respective ports.
2. Right click on the component and select 'Execute and Open Views'.
3. Follow the instructions in the pop-up window.
Note: You can also do the opposite. Instead of assigning tasks to employees, you might want to assign employees certain tasks. This is helpful when the ratio of tasks per employee is very high and will likely clutter the table if you choose the former over the latter. To compare the two options, all you need to do is to switch the ports where you connect your data table to. Caution: The number of rows in the first input port must always be lower than the second input port. Please keep that in mind when choosing which way to go with.
- Type: TablePort 1The first input port feeds on the identifiers of employees. These are either the employee names or the employee IDs. It should be a single column containing the unique identifiers (no duplicates allowed). It is recommended to use unique employee IDs as opposed to employee names.
- Type: TablePort 2The second input port feeds on a single column of a complete list of tasks that are to be assigned to the employees. Please ensure there are no duplicates or missing values. One row represents one task.
