This workflow is designed to analyze earthquake data in California and generate a Kepler view for visual exploration.
To use the workflow, download and run it on the KNIME Analytics Platform. For optimal performance using the Geospatial Analytics extension, make sure you are using version 4.7.4 or higher.
The Kepler view provides an interactive interface that enables users to zoom, pan, apply filters, and interact with the earthquake data points plotted on the map. It allows for a visually engaging exploration of the seismic activity in California.
The "Enable 3D Visualization" component displays a GIF that guides users through creating a 3D map.
In this visualization, the frequency dimension (height) is incorporated to represent the occurrence of earthquakes.
The points on the map representing the earthquakes are extended vertically based on their frequency in the cluster areas, creating a visual representation of the intensity or magnitude of seismic activity.
This 3D visualization provides an immersive and dynamic view of California earthquake occurrences, allowing users to better understand seismic events' distribution and intensity.
