This component connects to a ChEMBL database instance and, using a provided target name, synonym, or keyword, searches for targets by their preferred names or synonyms. The search is restricted to the following target types: single protein, protein family, protein complex, protein-protein interaction, and cell line. The search results are organized by target type, prioritizing single proteins, protein families, and protein complexes in that order. Within each target type, items are sorted alphabetically by name, organism, and mutation.
Additionally, the component retrieves the number of associated assays, compounds, and activities for each target. These counts include only activities of the following types: IC50, EC50, Ki, Kd, AC50, Emax, XC50, Inhibition, INHIBITION, K_on, K_off, GI50, GI, CC50, TGI, LC50, ED50, MIC, and MCC.
For this component to function properly, the ChEMBL DB Connection variables must be defined at the workflow level. These variables can be set using the ChEMBL DB Connection component.
