The workflow utilizes Seattle bike data to generate a comprehensive and visually appealing geo-visualization of the city's bike paths.
To use the workflow, download and run it on the KNIME Analytics Platform. For optimal performance using the Geospatial Analytics extension, make sure you are using version 4.7.4 or higher.
The input data has been saved in the workflow data area, simply execute the components "Read Dataset" to obtain the necessary data.
Our main goal is to convert the individual points that indicate bike routes into connected lines representing the entire network.
A weight column increases the size of the paths (lines) based on the frequency. The size is fixed for the stations for simplicity.
The workflow incorporates the "Points to Line" node, a crucial component in the process.
This node analyzes the spatial relationships between the points and constructs continuous lines based on their order of occurrence.
It identifies points that are adjacent to one another and groups them to form individual line segments. By sequentially connecting these line segments, the node creates a coherent representation of the bike paths throughout the city stations.
