This component is designed to be used in conjunction with the ChEMBL Target Search component. It enables users to specify the target name or synonyms to search for within the ChEMBL database through an Interactive View or WebPortal interface. While filling the input dialog, the component suggests the preferred names of certain targets; however, users can also search for names that differ from those suggested. By prompting users to input a search string, it dynamically sets the target_search_keywords variable that can be used by the ChEMBL Target Search component to perform the query.
